It is pretty akin to socialism -- you can't choose anything that undermines the agenda they want to teach your (and my) children. To them, we want to tear down the whole system. Taken to the extreme, and in more areas than education, and you get "The Gulag Archipelago". These politician scare me -- they say one thing -- "we want better education for children" -- and then want to deny the public the means to actually get a better education for their children by shutting down all avenues to better education that they don't agree with. Pretty much anything other than state-sponsored, NEA-endorsed options. Okay, enough rambling.
