How can this be viewed any other way? Rep. Mike Merrifield intends to pick up where he left off as the chair of the House Education committee for Colorado’s next legislative session. This gentleman has made it clear that he does not give any validity to any type of education other than what he can control directly.
After his now-infamous email was exposed and public pressure mounted, Merrifield was forced to step down as the chair of the committee. It’s now public knowledge that Merrifield is only one of many Democrats in the state legislature attempting to “gut charter schools,” according to one of their own.
Face the State - who brought to light the original Merrifield email - has this from the legislature today:
According to one Democrat staffer, however, who spoke with Face the State Thursday unofficially, Democrat leadership had heard of no changes to committee leadership assignments in the works and had not yet ratified any final decisions about leadership posts.
