All politics is local

The last year has been exasperating, to say the least. To coincide with the election of the most unqualified (but most liberal) man ever to hold the office of President, I was laid off at the beginning of November 2008. Since that time I’ve grown more and more weary of politics, particularly at the federal level. The first 10 months of 2009 did nothing to relieve that uncomfortable feeling that the country is headed to the dustbin. In fact, I think we’re just circling the ring now.

What I’ve seen in the elections of the last week, paired with a Saturday-night House of Representatives health care fiasco, has made me change my opinion on matters political. I still can’t bear to watch what a mess the current White House and Congress are doing to the country but I can do something about what’s happening in my own backyard. So after many months of debating the future of exvigilare I’ve decided to (finally) follow the lead of the Tea Party movement and bring attention - if not pressure - to my city and county governments.

I have neither the time nor the desire to plug away at Obama, Pelosi and the rest of the target-rich environment. I deal every day with my local politicians, and it’s about time they heard from me.

I’m back.

    Yay!

I understand your weariness… it has been getting to me too.

Watched Finding Nemo with a Will yesterday… all I can say is, “Just keep swimming, just keep swimming…”

    Welcome home.

There’s lot’s to do. But, fortunately for us, we are shooting in a ‘target rich’ environment.

Great to have you back, Rich! Focusing on local politics is where it’s at, and blogging local issues to hold our leaders accountable can be a great investment with a tremendous return. Godspeed to you…

Rich - so glad to see you back!! I appreciate your wanting to focus on local issues, but I will miss your spot on digs at this nightmarish administration. So, I hope you’ll reconsider commenting on what’s happening (to us) by the Feds. We have to keep the heat on Americans to focus on NOT voting for incumbents and considering new Conservative party nominees in 2010/2012.
Hope all your ladies are fine…see you at Thanksgiving or Christmas?
