Nose, meet face

Well, this is a story that just defines the self-defeating nature of modern society’s urge to do something - anything!

Cities around the country that have installed energy-efficient traffic lights are discovering a hazardous downside: The bulbs don’t burn hot enough to melt snow and can become crusted over in a storm — a problem blamed for dozens of accidents and at least one death.

At least one death. But at least the city has saved money!

Now, I suppose somebody did the BIG project cost analysis BEFORE they bought those damn lights and I’ll bet they are Gore-believing (aka Gorebots) stooges who think they are battling global warming (ha! ha!). Just sayin’s all.
