Cake or Death?

Ummm…..cake please. For all the Eddie Izzard fans, click more.

Any news?

Hmm…what to talk about. Or blog about, as the case may be. Can’t think of anything. Is there any news happening I should be aware of?
I’m kidding, of course. I’m actually in Tampa this week with the city of Aurora for the All America City Award competition, singlehandedly providing the music for the city’s delegation. […]

I’m from the government, and I’m here to help.

So found one traveler departing London.
Go through security, get pulled to the side. I’m wearing a French Connection Transformers t-shirt. Bloke starts joking with me is that Megatron. Then he explains that since Megatron is holding a gun, I’m not allowed to fly. WTF? It’s a 40 foot tall cartoon robot with a gun as […]

Always wanted this

When Emma was a toddler she constantly tried to climb into our laps to help herself to meal time. It was just impossible to eat for a year. That, combined with the new baby toys all over the floor making it more of a circus act to walk through the house, made us think about […]

Lighten up

Tell me you can watch this and not laugh out loud. I mean, come on - it’s a flying penis!

All right, all right

Nothing like your friends complaining to make you post something, huh?
Happy Pascha, Christo Anesti! We’ve just celebrated our first Lent/Holy Week/Pascha in the Orthodox church. Too wonderful for words, and many other Orthodox bloggers have written about it better than I would. So, how about a general update?
The symphony has a concert tomorrow night. You […]

Busy week

My work dumped about 140 people from its corporate office in the last week, so the day job has been a little more exciting than normal.
Pascha is next week, so this week is (supposed to be) all about the preparation.
I’m playing the spring musical with one of the local high schools, so all the non-day-job […]

Kindle cool

Tell me this isn’t cool. Read more!

At 400 bucks I’m not going to run out and get one, but like most new technology you have to wonder where this piece will lead. What’s next?
UPDATE: I want this!

Early birthday present

I ordered the hard drive for the new computer I mentioned last week. It’s pretty sweet, and incorporates perpendicular recording technology. I’m set with my case and power supply. Fellow geeks, what mobo/processor do you recommend?

My brain is full

So its a good thing there is something to help. Even better is that Evernote is free today. With any software from GiveAwayOfTheDay, its a good idea to peruse the comments first. This release shows an exceptional response.
UPDATE:  Lifehacker has more on it. Plus an instructive video here.

Computer geeks of the world, unite!

I’m in the process of building a new computer. I’d say from scratch, but that discounts the work that others’ put into it, so I’ll just say I’m putting together lots of different parts. I’m the personality type that likes to have an overload of reference material. Problem is, I tend not to go back […]

As if I needed more reasons

It was during our last trip to England that the Archbishop of Canterbury made his ridiculous statements about Sharia law. Great, thanks! What a good idea.
Hazel just rounded up a few recent spots of British law. As the saying goes, with friends like these who needs enemies?

You’re not going to see this often

Not in this lifetime, anyway. Earth and the moon - but seen from another planet.

Vacation

Off for 2 weeks on a much needed vacation. No blogging, no working. Nada but family and friends. And I’m not saying where we’re going.

Ouch.
